Barbara Platte founded the label “TRAITS Paris” in 1994. Twice a year, she releases collections of shawls and scarves produced exclusively for her in the South of France.
The delicate structure and feel of the textiles she designs, her playful approach to colour and the subtlety of her graphics give each of her creations a strength of its own.

Her collections are inspired by her travels in Northern Europe and her wanderings through the Paris fashion world, before taking shape in her design studio in Paris’s 14th arrondissement.

Barbara Platte studied fashion design at the University of Applied Arts in Hamburg and at the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
She has created fabrics, stoles and accessories for the fashion houses Lapidus, Gianni Versace, Hermès, Helmut Lang and Jil Sander.
